As You Like It Act-1 Quiz : In Act 1 of As You Like It, we are introduced to the main characters and conflicts. However, after Orlando’s victory, Duke Frederick suddenly banishes Rosalind, fearing she might become a threat. Celia, who loves Rosalind dearly, decides to run away with her. To stay safe, Rosalind disguises herself as a boy named Ganymede, and Celia as a poor girl called Aliena. They take the court jester, Touchstone, with them and escape to the Forest of Arden.
The act ends with all the major characters preparing for their journeys—Orlando fleeing for his life, and Rosalind and Celia leaving for the forest, setting the stage for adventure and romance.
