Meanwhile, the noise continues, increasing everyone’s panic. The exorcist himself becomes nervous but continues his act. Finally, when pushed into the shop, the confusion reaches its peak. At that moment, the cat manages to escape, still carrying the jug on its head, and runs away into the street.
The truth is revealed—the frightening “spirit” was nothing but a trapped cat. However, even after seeing it, the exorcist maintains doubt, suggesting that something unknown might still be within the cat. This leaves the shopkeeper uneasy.
The story Cat Within humorously exposes human fear, superstition, and hypocrisy. It shows how ignorance and darkness—both literal and mental—lead people to believe in irrational things.
