Macbeth Act 2 Quiz :

Act 2, Scene 1

Late at night, Macbeth meets Banquo and his son Fleance. Banquo talks about dreaming of the witches. After Banquo leaves, Macbeth sees a vision of a floating dagger pointing toward Duncan’s room. He is confused but finally convinces himself to commit the murder.

Act 2, Scene 3

The drunken porter makes jokes before opening the door for Macduff and Lennox. Macduff enters Duncan’s room and discovers the murder. Macbeth pretends to be shocked and admits to killing the guards. Lady Macbeth faints to distract attention. Duncan’s sons, Malcolm and Donalbain, decide to escape as they fear for their lives.

Act 2, Scene 4

Ross talks to an Old Man about strange events in nature. Macduff arrives with news that Duncan is buried, his sons have fled, and Macbeth is now king. Macbeth has gone to Scone for his coronation.

This act shows Macbeth’s guilt, Lady Macbeth’s control, and the beginning of Macbeth’s rule.
