The Present Perfect Tense ( auxiliary has/have + past participle of verb) is used when we wish to express the idea that some activity that took place in the past or a situation that originated in the past but it has connection with the present in some way.

The Present Perfect Tense is formed with the present tense of have + the past participle (of the verb).

The Present Perfect Tense is used for past actions whose time is not definite or not given.

The Present Perfect Tense is used for recent actions that have results in the present or past actions or events that are connected with the present in some way.

  1. I have cut my finger. (It is bleeding now.)
  2. The lift has broken down. (We have to use the stairs to go up.)
