Advance Organizer Model Quiz : Advance Organizer Model was developed by David P. Ausubel, a famous educational psychologist.
This model is used before starting a new topic to help students connect new learning with what they already know. It helps in meaningful learning.
Objective of Advance Organizer Model
- To make students ready for new learning.
- To link previous knowledge with new content.
- To improve understanding and long-term memory.
- To reduce confusion during the lesson.
Purpose of Advance Organizer Model
- To prepare students mentally before teaching the main lesson.
- To organize students’ thoughts in a clear way.
- To provide a framework or structure for the new lesson.
- To support meaningful verbal learning.
Phases of Advance Organizer Model
There are three phases in this model:
- Presentation of Advance Organizer
→ Teacher gives a general idea or brief introduction to the new topic (using diagrams, charts, stories, examples etc.). - Presentation of Learning Task or Content
→ Teacher teaches the main lesson/content in detail. - Strengthening Cognitive Organization
→ Teacher helps students link new learning with old knowledge (through questioning, discussions, summaries).
Syntax / Structure of Advance Organizer Model
